Overview of Small Groups

The Small Group Ministry at PCPC exists to integrate each individual member into Biblical community. It is designed to provide acceptance and accountability for each person, as well as emotional, spiritual, and physical support in a close-knit group of believers. In a small group setting, believers are truly able to communicate, encourage, and uplift one another. It is here that Jesus Christ is experienced in His presence and power, where lives are transformed by the Gospel through mutual ministry and people are equipped for extending Gospel ministry to others.

A Small Group is a gathering of about 6 to 12 individuals, committed to each other and to the Kingdom of God. They are places where people, through their interaction with Scripture and one another, are equipped to minister to each other and grow in their relationship with Christ and in their perceptions of their own changing lives. It is through the interactive dialogue and aggressive study of Scripture in a casual, comfortable atmosphere that much of an individual’s spiritual growth occurs. Small Groups are led by trained lay-leaders from the PCPC body, and meet weekly either at the Church or in homes throughout the Dallas Metroplex. The elements of group interaction are usually balanced between worship, Bible study, fellowship, prayer and outward mission. Groups are encouraged to be externally-minded, always looking for ways to reach out to their neighborhoods and communities.

Small Groups are an essential part of shaping the future of PCPC. To be involved in a Small Group is to truly be integrated into the Church body. New groups are forming regularly, and those willing to lead are encouraged to participate in an Introductory Training Session, held periodically throughout the year. This session provides vision and basic training in communicating and ministering to the needs of group members.

Involvement in a Small Group is a rewarding experience, connecting each individual to the Body of Christ and equipping them to use their Spiritual Gifts to strengthen the Body for God’s work. Small Groups are a Biblical way to work with other believers for the good of the Kingdom of God.
